REBUILDING HOPE

Our goal is to partner with you to help you gain independence and stability.  Often though, it is an emergency that brings neighbors through our doors. We can help in an emergency by:
  • One-time emergency food - earning credit hours is not required for this assistance.
  • Emergency assistance for fire or flood victims - earning credit hours is not required for this assistance.
  • Short term assistance with transportation, finding shelter, meeting personal needs.
  • Help contacting other agencies that offer additional services.
  • A listening ear and a caring heart. We offer help and hope to all who contact us!
We can help in a non-emergency through our HandUP Assistance Programs.  Request a HandUP Assistance application and let's get started!
*We assist those who live within a 50-mile radius of Milton, PA only.

REACHING INDEPENDENCE

YOUR PART:
When your application and interview are completed, our staff will notify you of your approval or denial. If approved, we will outline what assistance you will receive and how many assistance credit hours will be required.   If you accept the assistance award, you will be given a work assignment in our HandUP  Store or Recycling Center, you can schedule when to start. Credits must be earned within 30 days of your acceptance.  (You may serve these hours yourself or have someone else help serve them and give you credit).

We want this to be a good experience for you, so we will try to match your abilities to the tasks available. Be sure to let us know if you have a particular skill or training.  If you need job training, this is a great opportunity for you to learn something marketable. We are not giving you a handout; you are working to change your own future.

After you have completed the required credit hours, we will pay the agreed upon bill directly to the creditor for you. If you are earning additional food, clothing, or store merchandise, you will receive the requested items after you complete the required credit hours.
